Flavio Van Boekel is the founder of the Van Boekel Law Group. Mr. Van Boekel is rated by Super Lawyers as “Rising Star 2017 and 2018” in the field of Family and Matrimonial Law, Divorce, and Related Issues such as Custody and Child Support. He is also a Lawyer Awarded Top 100 Lawyers by the National Trial Lawyer Association and he is in the “Who’s Who Hall” of the best in the legal profession. Mr. Van Boekel earned his Law Degree from Michigan State College of Law Cum Laude in 2009. While in law school, he clerked for the then Governor of Michigan Jennifer Granholm, and he also was an intern in the Attorney Grievance Commission, responsible for Ethics of Attorneys and Disciplinary Intakes. Prior to Law School, Mr. Van Boekel has earned also a Bachelor Degree in Arts with a Major in Cultural Studies from State University of New York Empire State College. Prior to practicing law, Mr. Van Boekel was a paralegal who has dealt with law for over a decade before finally becoming a lawyer.
Mr. Van Boekel has had several trials under his belt including divorce, civil, deportation and criminal trials, countless motions, and have won the prestige and reputation of an excellent litigator even by the account of his adversaries reason why he has been selected to be a Super Lawyer, a peer reviewed selection that is granted only to 2.5% of all Attorneys in the State.

Michelle Welsh, Of Counsel
Michelle D. Welsh has amassed an impressive resume focusing on criminal law and municipal court in New Jersey. Prior to graduating from law school, she worked with both the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office in New Jersey as well as the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office. Since then, she has served with the New Jersey Office of Public Defender’s Appellate Division and as a municipal public defender for the towns of Long Hill and Cranford. Ying Cao, Of Counsel
As Of Counsel, Ms. Cao has extensive experience in national and international corporate transactional matters ranging from structuring multinational companies, cross border investments and related regulatory considerations, to negotiating and drafting contracts and resolving commercial disputes. Ms. Cao’s transactional experience also includes commercial real estate transactions and commercial lease negotiations, as well as experience in use variance applications and the hearing process.
In recent years, Ms. Cao has expanded her practice into the area of investment immigration, successfully representing several Chinese investors in conducting due diligence of EB-5 regional center projects, analyzing risks, guiding clients in the preparation of source of funds documents, and preparing and submitting applications to United States Citizenship and Immigration Services. Ms. Cao also represents clients headquartered in China, India and Pakistan in forming U.S. subsidiaries and navigating the immigration process necessary for obtaining L-1 visas for intra-company executive transferees or transferees with specialized knowledge to work in their U.S. subsidiaries. Some of the other business visas Ms. Cao represents clients in obtaining include H-1B work visas for employees of hi-tech startup companies and EB-1 immigration visas or O-1 nonimmigrant work visas for clients with extraordinary ability in the fields of sciences, sports and business.
Ms. Cao was born and grew up in Beijing, China and can advise clients in both English and Chinese. Ms. Cao previously worked at Sullivan & Cromwell LLP, Pryor Cashman LLP and Goodwin Procter LLP. Ms. Cao provides pro bono legal services to several New Jersey non-profit organizations on corporate matters.
